Create My Child's PageAbout this coloring page
Jesus holds out one hand, palm up, and a white dove is landing gently on it. The dove's wings are still slightly spread, mid-landing. Jesus watches it with a quiet, attentive expression. The background is soft and open — just sky and a hint of distant hills. There are no other figures. This page is simple and symbolic: the Holy Spirit, represented as a dove, coming to rest on Jesus. The dove's feathers, the open sky, and Jesus' calm posture give kids a peaceful, careful page to color.
Suggested Scripture: Matthew 3:16 (NIV) — As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him.
The page is designed as a printable Christian coloring activity that can support a short Bible conversation, a family devotional moment, or a calm classroom activity.

Create a personalized Jesus coloring pageTeaching ideas for parents and teachers
- Before coloring, ask kids what the dove represents. Most will say "peace" or "the Holy Spirit." Then ask why the Holy Spirit would look like a dove.
- For ages 5–7: keep it simple. At Jesus' baptism, God's Spirit came down like a dove and landed on Jesus. The dove shows us that God's Spirit is gentle, not scary.
- For Sunday school: focus on the gentleness of the image. The Spirit didn't crash down like thunder — He landed like a dove. Ask, "What does that tell you about how the Holy Spirit works in us?"
- For family devotion: read Matthew 3:13–17. Ask, "What's one area of our family's life where we need the Holy Spirit to land gently?"
Print and activity tips
- Color the dove in soft whites and pale grays — the wings should look light and delicate.
- Keep Jesus' hand open and relaxed; He's receiving, not grabbing.
- Use a soft, open sky in pale blues and whites; the whole scene should feel like a moment of quiet arrival.
Discussion questions
- The dove lands gently. What does that tell you about how God's Spirit comes to us?
- Why do you think God chose a dove to represent His Spirit instead of something more powerful, like an eagle?
- Have you ever felt the Holy Spirit in a gentle way — not dramatic, just quiet and present?
- The dove lands on Jesus' open hand. What does it mean to hold your hand open to God?
- If the Holy Spirit were to land on you right now, what do you think He'd want to tell you?
