Create My Child's PageAbout this coloring page
Peter's boat sits low in the water, weighed down by an enormous net full of fish. Peter himself is on his knees in the bow of the boat, looking up at Jesus who stands on the shore. The net is straining, and a second boat has come alongside to help haul in the catch. Fish are visible everywhere — in the net, spilling over the sides, glinting in the morning light. This page captures the miraculous catch from Luke 5 — the moment that preceded Peter's call to follow Jesus. The overflowing net, the two boats, the morning light on the water, and Peter's posture of awe give kids a page full of energy and detail.
Suggested Scripture: Luke 5:8 (NIV) — When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus' knees and said, "Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!"
The page is designed as a printable Christian coloring activity that can support a short Bible conversation, a family devotional moment, or a calm classroom activity.

- Before coloring, ask kids why Peter asked Jesus to leave after such an incredible miracle. Most will be puzzled — that's the right reaction. Then explain: Peter suddenly understood who Jesus was, and it made him aware of who he himself was.
- For ages 5–7: keep it simple. Jesus filled Peter's empty net with so many fish that the boat almost sank. Peter knew right away that Jesus was no ordinary man.
- For Sunday school: focus on Peter's response. He didn't celebrate — he fell down. Ask, "What does it tell you about Jesus that being near Him made Peter feel his own smallness?"
- For family devotion: read Luke 5:1–11. Ask, "Has our family ever had a moment where God did something so big that it made us feel small in a good way?"
Print and activity tips
- Color the fish in silvery blues and grays — pack them densely in the net to show the abundance.
- Use early morning light on the water — pale yellows and soft pinks — to suggest the miracle happened at dawn.
- Keep Peter's posture low and small in the boat; Jesus on the shore should feel steady and tall by contrast.
Discussion questions
- Peter had fished all night and caught nothing. Then one word from Jesus changed everything. What does that tell you about timing and obedience?
- Peter asked Jesus to leave because he felt unworthy. Have you ever felt too unworthy to be close to God?
- Jesus didn't leave. He called Peter to follow Him. What does that tell you about how Jesus responds to our unworthiness?
- The nets were so full they began to break. What does it mean that God's provision sometimes exceeds what we can contain?
- After this, Peter left everything and followed Jesus. What would you leave behind for a moment like that?
