Create My Child's PageAbout this coloring page
Jesus stands with one arm extended, His posture commanding and calm. Before Him, a man is bent over, and a dark shadowy form is leaving him — the demon departing. The crowd around them has stepped back, some with hands raised in shock, others watching with wide eyes. The setting is a public space — a road, a courtyard — and the contrast between Jesus' stillness and the chaos around Him is stark. This page captures one of the most dramatic categories of Jesus' miracles: His authority over evil. The crowd's varied reactions, the departing shadow, and Jesus' steady posture give kids a page full of movement and contrast.
Suggested Scripture: Mark 1:27 (NIV) — The people were all so amazed that they asked each other, "What is this? A new teaching — and with authority! He even gives orders to impure spirits and they obey him."
The page is designed as a printable Christian coloring activity that can support a short Bible conversation, a family devotional moment, or a calm classroom activity.

Create a personalized Jesus coloring pageTeaching ideas for parents and teachers
- Before coloring, ask kids what they think the crowd was feeling. Then ask what it means that even evil spirits had to obey Jesus.
- For ages 5–7: keep it simple. Jesus is stronger than anything scary. When He speaks, even the bad things have to listen and leave.
- For Sunday school: focus on the word "authority." Jesus didn't beg or bargain — He commanded. Ask, "What does it mean that Jesus has authority over everything, including things that scare us?"
- For family devotion: read Mark 1:21–28. Ask, "What's one thing in our family's life that we need Jesus to speak His authority into?"
Print and activity tips
- Color the departing shadow in dark grays and blacks — it should look like it's dissolving, not solid.
- Keep Jesus in warm, steady tones; His calm should contrast with the chaos around Him.
- Color the crowd in varied tones of shock and awe — this is a moment no one expected.
Discussion questions
- The crowd said Jesus taught "with authority." What's the difference between someone who has authority and someone who just talks loudly?
- The demon obeyed Jesus immediately. What does that tell you about who Jesus is?
- Is there anything in your life that feels like it has power over you? What would it mean to ask Jesus to speak to it?
- The crowd was amazed — but were they immediately followers? What does it take to go from amazed to committed?
- What's one area of your life where you need Jesus' authority right now?
