Create My Child's PageAbout this coloring page
Jesus stands on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, gesturing toward two boats where fishermen are working. Peter and Andrew are in one boat, pulling in a net; James and John are in the other with their father Zebedee. Jesus is calling them to follow Him, and their faces show the moment of decision. The water is calm with gentle ripples, and a few seagulls fly overhead. This page captures the beginning of Jesus' team. The boats, the nets, the water textures, and the varied expressions give kids rich detail work while Jesus stays prominent on the shore.
Suggested Scripture: Matthew 4:19 (NIV) — Come, follow me, and I will send you out to fish for people.
The page is designed as a printable Christian coloring activity that can support a short Bible conversation, a family devotional moment, or a calm classroom activity.

Create a personalized Jesus coloring pageTeaching ideas for parents and teachers
- Before coloring, ask kids what they would do if Jesus asked them to leave everything and follow Him. Most will hesitate — that's honest. Then ask what made the disciples say yes.
- For ages 5–7: keep it simple. Jesus asked some fishermen to come with Him. They said yes. That's how the team started.
- For Sunday school: focus on the cost. These men left their jobs, their families, their security. Ask, "What would you have to leave to follow Jesus full-time?"
- For family devotion: read Matthew 4:18–22. Ask, "What's one thing God might be asking us to leave behind so we can follow Him better?"
Print and activity tips
- Color the boats in warm wood tones; add details like oars, nets, and baskets.
- Use layered blues for the water — darker in the distance, lighter near the shore.
- Give each disciple a different robe color, but keep them all in earthy tones so they feel like a team.
Discussion questions
- Peter and Andrew left their nets immediately. What's something you could leave behind to follow Jesus better?
- Jesus said He'd make them "fish for people." What does that mean to you?
- James and John left their father in the boat. Do you think that was hard? Why or why not?
- Have you ever felt like Jesus was calling you to do something? What was it?
- The disciples didn't know where Jesus was leading them. They just went. What's one thing you could follow Jesus into without knowing the end?
