Create My Child's PageAbout this coloring page
Mary and Joseph stand in the temple courtyard holding baby Jesus, while an older man (Simeon) reaches out to take the child in his arms. A woman (Anna) stands nearby with her hands raised in praise. The temple columns rise in the background, and a few other figures watch from a distance. This page captures the presentation of Jesus at the temple, forty days after His birth. The architectural details of the temple, the varied expressions on the faces, and the soft folds of the clothing give kids plenty to color while the holy moment stays central.
Suggested Scripture: Luke 2:22 (NIV) — When the time came for the purification rites required by the Law of Moses, Joseph and Mary took the child to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord.
The page is designed as a printable Christian coloring activity that can support a short Bible conversation, a family devotional moment, or a calm classroom activity.

Create a personalized Jesus coloring pageTeaching ideas for parents and teachers
- Before coloring, ask kids why Mary and Joseph brought baby Jesus to the temple. Most won't know — explain it was a Jewish tradition to dedicate the firstborn son to God.
- For ages 5–7: keep it simple. Mary and Joseph brought Jesus to God's house to say, "He's yours." That's what dedication means.
- For Sunday school: focus on Simeon and Anna. They were old, they had waited their whole lives, and they recognized Jesus immediately. Ask, "What does it take to recognize God when He shows up?"
- For family devotion: read Luke 2:22–38. Ask, "What's one thing our family has been waiting for that God might be ready to answer?"
Print and activity tips
- Color the temple columns in warm stone tones — creams, tans, and light grays.
- Give Simeon and Anna white or gray hair to suggest their age; it's an important detail.
- Keep baby Jesus in the lightest colors on the page; He should be the visual center.
Discussion questions
- Simeon had been waiting his whole life to see the Messiah. What's one thing you've waited a long time for?
- Anna was a widow who spent her days praying in the temple. What does that tell you about how she lived?
- Mary and Joseph brought Jesus to God even though He was already God's Son. What does that teach us about dedication?
- Have you ever been in a place (like a church or a quiet room) where you felt especially close to God?
- Simeon said he could die in peace now that he'd seen Jesus. What's one thing that gives you peace?
