Create My Child's PageAbout this coloring page
Jesus stands on a grassy hillside with a large flock of sheep spread out around Him. Some sheep are grazing, some are resting, and a few are looking up at Jesus. He holds a shepherd's staff in one hand, and His other hand is raised slightly, as if calling or guiding. The hillside rolls into the distance with a few trees and a soft sky above. This is the classic "Good Shepherd" image, drawn with warmth and peace. The sheep's wool, the grass textures, and the layered hills give kids plenty of repetitive, calming work while Jesus stays prominent at the center.
Suggested Scripture: Psalm 23:1 (NIV) — The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
The page is designed as a printable Christian coloring activity that can support a short Bible conversation, a family devotional moment, or a calm classroom activity.

Create a personalized Jesus coloring pageTeaching ideas for parents and teachers
- Before coloring, ask kids what a shepherd does for his sheep. Most will say "feeds them, protects them, leads them." Then ask how Jesus does those things for us.
- For ages 5–7: keep it simple. Jesus is like a shepherd. We're like sheep. He takes care of us.
- For Sunday school: focus on Psalm 23. Read the whole psalm slowly. Ask, "Which verse feels most true for you right now?"
- For family devotion: read Psalm 23 together. Then have each family member finish this sentence: "The Lord is my shepherd, which means I don't have to worry about..."
Print and activity tips
- Color the sheep in soft whites and creams, with slight gray shading for depth.
- Use layered greens for the hillside — lighter at the top, darker at the bottom — to suggest distance.
- Keep Jesus' robe in warm, earthy tones; He should feel like part of the landscape, not separate from it.
Discussion questions
- Sheep aren't known for being smart. They get lost easily. What does that say about how God sees us?
- Psalm 23 says "I lack nothing." Do you feel like that's true? Why or why not?
- The shepherd knows each sheep by name. What does it mean that God knows you by name?
- Have you ever felt lost like a sheep? What helped you find your way back?
- The shepherd's staff is for guidance and protection. What's one way God has guided or protected you recently?
