Create My Child's PageAbout this coloring page
Jesus stands on the shore of a lake while four disciples are in a small boat nearby, pulling in a net full of fish. One disciple is leaning over the side, another is holding the net, and two are rowing. Jesus is gesturing toward the boat, as if He's just given them instructions. The water is calm with gentle ripples, and a few fish are visible in the net. This page captures the miraculous catch of fish from John 21, after the resurrection. The boat, the net, the water textures, and the varied poses of the disciples give kids plenty of detail work while Jesus stays steady on the shore.
Suggested Scripture: John 21:6 (NIV) — He said, "Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some." When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.
The page is designed as a printable Christian coloring activity that can support a short Bible conversation, a family devotional moment, or a calm classroom activity.

Create a personalized Jesus coloring pageTeaching ideas for parents and teachers
- Before coloring, ask kids what they think the disciples were feeling when the net filled up so fast. Most will say "shocked" or "excited."
- For ages 5–7: keep it simple. Jesus helped His friends catch so many fish that their net almost broke. He takes care of His friends.
- For Sunday school: this is after the resurrection. The disciples didn't recognize Jesus at first. Ask, "Why do you think they recognized Him when the fish came in?"
- For family devotion: read John 21:1–14. Ask, "What's one time God showed up in our family's work — not just our church time, but our actual work?"
Print and activity tips
- Color the water in layered blues — darker at the bottom, lighter near the shore — to suggest depth.
- Color the fish in the net in silvery grays and blues; pack them close together to show how full the net is.
- Give each disciple a different robe color, but keep them all in earthy tones so they feel like a team.
Discussion questions
- The disciples had been fishing all night and caught nothing. Then Jesus showed up. Have you ever worked hard at something with no results, then something changed?
- Why do you think Jesus waited until they were back to their old job (fishing) before appearing to them?
- The net was full but didn't tear. What does that tell you about how God provides?
- Peter jumped into the water to get to Jesus. What's something you'd be willing to jump into to get closer to Jesus?
- This was after the resurrection. What does it tell you that Jesus still cared about their daily work, not just their spiritual life?
