Create My Child's PageAbout this coloring page
The three wise men kneel before young Jesus, each holding out a different gift — a small chest, a jar, and an ornate box. Mary sits on a low chair holding Jesus, who reaches toward one of the gifts with curious eyes. Joseph stands behind them, watching quietly. The room is no longer the stable — it's a small house, which fits with what the Bible actually says: the wise men arrived later, when Jesus was probably a toddler. The wise men's robes, crowns, and gift boxes are intricately patterned, making this page especially good for kids who enjoy detail work.
Suggested Scripture: Matthew 2:11 (NIV) — On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
The page is designed as a printable Christian coloring activity that can support a short Bible conversation, a family devotional moment, or a calm classroom activity.

Create a personalized Jesus coloring pageTeaching ideas for parents and teachers
- Before coloring, explain the gifts: gold is for a king, frankincense is for a priest, and myrrh is used to prepare bodies for burial. Ask, "What does it mean that one of His baby gifts pointed to His death?"
- For ages 5–7: keep it simple. The wise men gave Jesus the most valuable things they had. Ask, "What's the most valuable thing you have? Would you give it to Jesus?"
- For Sunday school: focus on the worship part. The wise men didn't just visit — they bowed down. Ask, "What's the difference between visiting Jesus and worshiping Him?"
- For family devotion: read Matthew 2:9–12. Ask each family member to think of one "gift" they could bring Jesus this week — not a thing, but an action or attitude.
Print and activity tips
- Color each gift box in rich, royal colors — gold, deep red, dark green — to suggest their value.
- Pattern the wise men's robes with detailed designs; even simple repeating shapes (dots, stars, diamonds) elevate the whole page.
- Leave Jesus and Mary in softer, lighter tones so they remain the visual center even surrounded by all that detail.
Discussion questions
- The wise men brought three gifts to Jesus. If you could bring Him one gift today, what would it be — and why?
- Why do you think God told the wise men to take a different way home, away from King Herod?
- The wise men weren't from Israel. What does it mean that the first foreigners to find Jesus were searching for Him on purpose?
- The Bible doesn't tell us their names — only that there were three gifts, so people guessed three wise men. What does it tell you that they remained unnamed?
- What's the most thoughtful gift anyone has ever given you?
