About this coloring page

A long wooden ark sits at the center of this page, its gangway lowered onto solid ground while pairs of animals walk up in a calm line — two elephants in front, giraffes craning their necks, lions, sheep, and birds circling overhead. Noah stands near the entrance guiding them in. There's no rain falling yet in the picture, just heavy clouds gathering above, which gives kids room to color either a sunny "before" sky or a stormy one already on its way. The detail in the animals makes this page especially good for kids who like spending time on small textures — feathers, fur, scales — without rushing.

Suggested Scripture: Genesis 7:9 (NIV) — male and female, came to Noah and entered the ark, as God had commanded Noah.

The page is designed as a printable Christian coloring activity that can support a short Bible conversation, a family devotional moment, or a calm classroom activity.

Teaching ideas for parents and teachers

  • Before coloring, ask kids to count how many animal pairs they can find on the page — it gets them looking carefully before a single crayon comes out.
  • For ages 5–7: tell the story while they color and pause at the part where the door closes. Ask, "Why do you think God shut the door Himself?"
  • For Sunday school: use this page to talk about obedience that takes a long time. Noah built the ark for years before it rained. What does it feel like to obey when nothing is happening yet?
  • For family devotion: have each family member pick one animal pair and say one thing they think God cares about, based on the fact that He saved that kind of animal too.

Print and activity tips

  • Color the animals first, then add the sky last — it lets kids decide whether their ark scene happens before or during the storm.
  • Cut out the colored ark and glue it onto blue construction paper with hand-drawn waves around it for a second-stage scene.
  • Have older kids label each animal pair with the first letter of its name to turn the page into a quiet alphabet hunt.

Discussion questions

  • If you had to bring two of every animal onto a boat, which pair would be the hardest to take care of?
  • Noah listened to God even when his neighbors thought he was strange. Has anyone ever thought you were strange for doing what you knew was right?
  • What do you think it sounded like inside the ark on the first night?
  • God remembered Noah after the flood. What does it mean to be "remembered" by someone?
  • If you could ask Noah one question about that whole year, what would you ask?
